What is the best way to increase the size of a raid array?
There is a home server with ubuntu (I don’t remember, 14.04 or 16.04), I have a file storage in the sixth raid (managed via mdadm), 5 disks of 2 terabytes each. One of the disks flew out, and the idea arose to buy not another one for 2TB, but to buy, for example, 4 terabytes.
The question is: is it possible to gradually transfer the entire raid to 5x4tb by buying one disk of 4 terabytes each? Or is it possible to immediately assemble a raid of the required dimension and transfer data to it?
