What is the best way to get SVG working in IE8 already in a running project?

I read an article on Habré .
The variant with the Modernizer and Rafael does not start in any way. Errors are constantly pouring in: either the object is null, then a or b is undefined. I don't know which way to go anymore. It seems that only the raphael.js file is required. Maybe I'm missing something.
The option with SVGWeb is not suitable, since there is a layer in svg that is completely filled and covers everything, and I already set transparency with styles. In IE, svg is converted to object and I can no longer get to the tag with the class I need.
Perhaps these options can be somehow adapted, but I have not found solutions yet, unfortunately ...

Or maybe you shouldn't support ie-8 and make a stub ... any other option will be like a crutch
