Your own server is cool, but there are other options.
i2p network (read more here ), here are some of its features:

1. User activity cannot be tracked.
   
2. IP addresses are not used. Instead, cryptographic keys are used, which have no association with IP addresses.
   
3. Decentralization - the absence of root servers that need to be trusted in advance.
   
4. Traffic from one node to another goes encrypted through several intermediate ones.
   
5. Lack of censorship.
   
6. I2P is able to work even if only two computers remain on the network.
