What is the best way to authorize in the Chrome add-on?

There is an extension for chrome, which has authorization by key. If all the files are on the computer, then it can be debugged and entered without a key. If the data after entering the key is sent from the server, then it will be more difficult to crack the add-on, but additional time is spent on getting the js script. How can you make it harder to hack an add-on, but not increase the load time?

that logic that can be "hacked / stolen" should be on the server, not on JS.
Otherwise, you can then hide nothing at all, wasting time in vain.
