What is the best language to learn for olympiads?

Hello, I am currently a 1st year student at a college.
From the 2nd year, as we were told, we will be sent to various Olympiads, including WorldSkills.
But! I write in PHP quite well, I understand a lot of algorithms, functions, etc., but php, unfortunately, does not belong to the Olympiad PL.
But I want to learn some kind of PL for Olympiads, and for my future projects, because I think diplomas will not be superfluous.
Now my choice has fallen on C ++ (since php and C ++ are very similar) and Python (easy to learn, in demand), what can you advise?

If by olympiads we mean olympiad (sports) programming, then basically everyone writes in C ++ (if you look at the statistics on codeforces), but other languages \u200b\u200bare also suitable for olympiads, for example, python or java. Personally, I write in C++ because it's fast and I'm used to it.
PS Don't even try to write contests in some Pascal or pure C, C++ is objectively better, easier to learn, it's easier to write in it, I don't talk about python at all.
