What is the best keyboard shortcut to change the layout in Ubuntu?

Until I used Emacs, I had Alt + Shift to switch layouts.

But in Emacs this combination is required.
Putting on Ctrl + Shift is also impossible, because. in Ubuntu this combination is often used (for Nautilus for example).

I end up using CapsLock, but I don't really like it.

I tried Alt + Space (schematically like on a Mac), but I didn’t like it either.

Therefore, I ask for advice - what keys to put in order to be convenient and not interfere with Emacs?

Set it as convenient.

"Caps" - enable English "Caps + Shift" - enable Russian. And forever forget the "switches".

As a result, I settled on ALT + SPACE, which is still unusual, but Emacs does not interfere, and when I change to a macbook, I don’t get confused.
Before that, I used CapsLock on Ubuntu for a long time.
Thanks for the advice.

I do not agree, as far as I can remember, there has always been such a combination of keys to change the layout, so far without any problems.

I have the right Alt, it is quite convenient to press it with the thumb of the right hand.

I have Alt+CapsLock.
Convenient, nothing overlaps. :) Even my wife liked it.

But I put it half a year ago, two shifts and I can’t get enough of it, at first it was a little unusual (just a few days), but now I can’t imagine how I used other combinations.
Two shifts are pressed at the same time, with the little fingers, so if you also type blindly, then this, in my opinion, is ideal, especially since this combination does not intersect with other hotkeys.

In Ubuntu, there is often an unused key with a window) WinKey.
I myself use left ctrl in Windows, but in linux it is not convenient.

It's hard to get used to, especially if you constantly have to type on other people's computers under other people's settings. But it's worth it, IMHO - when you get used to it, you completely forget about the problem of incorrect layout.
