What is the best GoPRO camera to get?

What is the best GoPRO camera to get?
There are already five generations of cameras and a bunch of varieties within generations. The difference between editions can reach hundreds of bucks.
Which of them is optimal in terms of price \ quality, other points?

Take the 5th generation of cameras. The problem with goPro cameras is the amount of waste. It reaches more than 20%
I don't have 5th generation cameras, but I have 4th generation black cameras. And I can say, purely from the point of view of updating, I would take the 5th generation. I have 6 cameras 4-ok, 3 were replaced under warranty, overheating problems and freezing problems of this generation. Purely in theory, they should have done better than they did.
+ there is a RAW format that will add goodies during processing.
But I recommend thinking about whether you need a goPro. If we are talking about shooting from places where compactness is required - okay, this is the main plus of the camera and it is needed. If you can use a large device, it is better to immediately take some blackmagic compact. Yes, there is no masterpiece processing, but more honest RAW.
In the experience of my friends, they buy a goPro and use it often for other purposes.
