Used standard and Genymotion.
The first one is generally hell, it slowed down, it started for 100,000 years, etc.
The second one is more or less, it starts up faster and does not slow down so much.
There is no ideal, Genymotion (VirtualBox) is fast, but it is x86, and on devices it is usually arm, therefore, in applications, native libraries are made primarily for arm, and sometimes they are limited to it, because of this, some applications will not start on Genymotion at all, and the standard (AVD) is very slow, but it is also available for arm.
From a performance standpoint, it's important to use x86 binaries instead of ARM. It is due to x86 images that VirtualBox and BlueStack work quickly (it is not a full-fledged emulator at all, but toys work quickly).
If you need an emulator for development, then the built-in AndroidStudio is more than enough, provided you use the x86 image. Moreover, even support for the Google Play API is fully present in it, without any crutches.
