Won't burn. Overvoltage is dangerous (supply 12 V instead of 5 V). And the written current is how much the charger can deliver maximum current (or if multiplied by a voltage of 5 V - power). In this case, this is 1 A. The board can take a maximum of 0.5 A via USB. And there will still be a margin of 0.5 A. Or the board can take 0.34 A, and 0.66 A remains.
The Arduino Uno has a self-resetting fuse that protects the computer's USB port from currents greater than 500 mA. Therefore, more than 500 mA when powered via USB cannot be obtained, regardless of the USB2 or USB3 port on the computer.
The old USB standards that the Arduino Mega relies on assume half a ampere current. No, nothing will burn.
All USB devices have long been standardized. See standards. Current on USB2 if 500MA memory serves me right. Then protection will work (Theoretically). USB3 seems to have an ampere of 0.9
Br ... re-read ... did not understand.? Current is the maximum current. Is your arduino eating more amps?
