What is the algorithm for translating Laravel to php8 from php7.4?

Now we have everything written in php7.4 and laravel 8 versions.
Do I need to start porting all the code to php8 already or is it very labor intensive?
Are there any transition guides?

8 Laravel works fine on 8 PHP, no need to adapt anything.
