What is SQL Statement?
I regularly come across such a term as statment in the code. Which seems to form the body of the request. I just can’t understand why the term statment is used and not request? It seems that SQL Request sounds much more logical? And in what an essence then SQL statment?

Statement is an expression. This is a neutral term, and request implies the presence of a response, this is not true for all sql expressions.
