What is now used more often web api or mvc (asp.net core)?

Tell us, please, what is the choice now more often. What do you think is more convenient? In what situations?

Just api in case of single page application, or web service without ui.
MVC if you want to quickly make a site with forms.
But the boundary is very blurred, it is almost impossible to know one and not know the other, and the question becomes meaningless.
This division was once made just to have 2 project templates in visualstudio, so I don't advise you to concentrate on this, but to study aspnetcore as a whole
