What is meant by using bootstrap mesh only?

Good evening everyone.
In vacancies I often meet the requirements of bootstrap know or grids. What is meant by knowing the bootstrap mesh?
Do I understand correctly that using only the bootstrap grid grid is when only the container from the grid and the column is used, and everything else is laid out on its own? That is, the blocks are large on the bootstrap columns, and the content inside is already independent?
