Is CoffeeScript a language or not? Wikipedia and the official website say that this is a language. Is this statement true? Does CoffeeScript fall under the definition of a language?

There is simply no software or hardware that would execute it directly, first it is translated into JS. And so language is language.

I would call it a preprocessor like LESS or Sass for css. The same eggs, only in profile. Although in essence it is a language compiled into another language (sort of another language ;-P)
