What is better to choose for creating designs and icons: photoshop ss or illustrator?

What is better for creating design (interface, possibly websites) and icons: photoshop ss or illustrator?
Interested in where it is more convenient to create from scratch and how simple (spent time).
What are the nuances of both programs?
What pitfalls can you run into?
Who has what prospects?
And what would you choose, if not difficult, tell me why?
I don't know much photoshop cc, but that's not the point.
Ps Tired of looking for icons, I decided to do it myself =) And also thanks for the answers.

1) Фотошоп.
2) Люстра больше под вектор, для иконок подойдет пентул фотошопа.
Вот если бы вы принты на футболки делали, то оправданнее (возможно) была бы люстра.
3, 4) Есть молоток и пила, у кого какие перспективы и подводные камни?
5) Пользуюсь фотошопом, т. к. чаще работаю с растром.
P.s. Надоело искать иконки, решил сам делать =) А так же спасибо за ответы.
A good icon painter is a separate profession. It won’t work out like that, they took it and started doing it, it takes time and a lot of theory (perspective, colors, even UI / UX). I would say from six months of study, having good creative abilities.
If you are a webmaster, it is easier to outsource these tasks.
