What is better to choose: android development or web programming?
Good evening everyone, recently I decided to start programming, because the system administration is getting a little bored, and the love of programming is starting to wake up. I understand that my question belongs to the series "what is better to eat: with a spoon or a fork?", but perhaps there are gentlemen here who were once tormented by the same question.
Ps I know that people who are separately engaged in either web development or developing android applications will probably look here ... Could you write what pitfalls (specifically in your case) you encountered when you were coding another creation. Thanks in advance!

About half a year ago I was tormented... As a result, after 2 months of torment I chose mobile development.
Just try. Probably in order: front-end, mobile development, back-end. If something catches along the way, slow down on it and go deeper. If it does not turn away - profit.
Weird question. The one you like best, of course.
And you can find out by trying both at least for six months.
I have relatively little Android programming experience. Two things strain: 1) when implementing non-standard controls (and they are required almost always), you have to rack your brains. Sometimes it's not entirely clear how to even approach. But in principle it is not very difficult. 2) The sweeping nature of Java and the difficulty of understanding the code on it, aggravated by the fact that for seemingly simple actions, you have to write a bit too much code (in my opinion). If you look from the point of view of work, then there are almost no vacancies for beginners, but from time to time they still meet on the same Brainstorage. There are enough vacancies for experienced developers.
I am guided by the labor market in my city (Volgograd) - so far web developers are needed with a large margin. View data for your city
I'm more of a php proger, but I also played around with android.
As for me, the web has 2 advantages:
- lower entry threshold;
- you can use "for life" (backend);
It's probably best to start with him.
And in the case of andorid, you need serious knowledge of java + willingness to "puzzle your head")
Worked on both web and android. Android will be more serious so take it and you will not be disappointed.
