What if I can't remember the basics?

Hello everyone, I've run into this problem. A month ago I decided to start learning frontend. First HTML CSS Well, then javascript. So I looked at various courses. It seemed that he understood everything. And when it came to typing myself, I sit like a sheep looking at the computer and don’t know what to write ... And I feel somehow weak. I expected to learn HTML and CSS in a month, but as a result I can’t even make a simple layout. Please tell me who faced such a problem how to remember all the information? Or can you recommend some good courses or books? (And then there was a lot of water on mine, the phrases “it’s not right to do this, but we’ll do it” often popped up and started right away with bootstrap)?

If theory is not assimilated, try to start with practice. Download some landing page template and start changing it for yourself, moving elements, changing colors, etc. In practice, information is better absorbed, at least for me :) In the course of work, questions will arise that are revealed through Google, and dry theory, as for me, is long outdated.

Max Shvedov Definitely right.
A month of courses and you thought "I already know how to do everything"? Lol.
Adequately, primitive layouts without plugs you will make up only after a few months of daily practice. And then, there is still no such front who would not use Google even having a top level.
It is high time to understand that the meaning of the courses is not to teach you, but to earn money.
Here on Habré you will ask and people will answer you, not course guides. This is how knowledge accumulates.

Well, how do you begin to understand that? Already several times I thought to score but somehow I want to learn

It means you don't really want to.
When I didn’t know how to shove the customer’s idea with a fucking canvas into the landing, but I knew that if I didn’t do this, I would lose a good amount of money - I really wanted to understand))) And in the end, I understood and did it.
Find yourself an incentive to want to understand. Then any task will be trifling. html/css is a primitive that children learn to work with easily. So it's not about complexity at all.

1. Seriously? For 1 month? With no background? Perhaps you are a genius who graduated with honors at the age of 10, but if not, you will have to spend a little more time.
2. Reading and viewing courses is almost empty space. The main thing is practice, since memorization is done EXACTLY in practice. So it's normal that after watching everyone and finally starting to practice (and you should have been a month ago), you don't remember anything. Write code. Read basically the documentation and specific questions on Google.

It is not enough just to look, you need to feel (practice).
It was pretty hard for me at the beginning (and even now it’s difficult, to be honest), but, I was crazy about programming, and therefore I constantly sawed something of my own .
On an example with JS: The author writes a calculator. In this calculator, you need to press buttons, the screen itself is non-clickable. I'm wondering, I'm doing it so that you can also enter into the screen. I make it so that the calculator can digest the string "1 + 1". But it's not enough for me, excitement, I want it to count lines like "5(15*8)^8". (It is clear that I have no idea how to do this and 100500% of the time was spent on googling problems, examples, questions on Habré: D)
As a result, the video for 15 minutes, I "viewed" for several hours. At the end, by the end of the video, I already knew well what the author was doing, plus I "felt", for example, regular expressions and a lot of other things.
The main thing (this was my big problem) is not to get completely into the jungle. It doesn't come out in any way - no need to peck your head forward.

Take a self-help book and do everything in order. You can't come up with tasks for yourself. And there is. There is a good book on the pdf drive website in 2018. We study html, CCC and Java script by Robins. It even has a link to the files with the task. Only it is in English, but school knowledge is enough for you, I won’t write the link, because I’m on the bus. There is a Russian-language version on the Internet, but it is 2014
