What happens if you insert an unmanaged switch into a trunk break?

Tell me, what, in theory and practice, will happen if an ordinary unmanaged switch is placed between two managed L2 level switches, in the "gap" of the trunk line?

It will most likely continue to work. But get room for cryptic problems to arise ;)
Better don't do that.
