What GSM 2G / 3G modem with support for connecting an external antenna would you recommend for the countryside?

An important parameter: decent signal reception quality in poor conditions remote from the city .
Will be used to get internet outside the city.
PS: I need a replacement for the old Conel UR5 .

If you suddenly can find, then Huawei E392. Old but powerful. Excellent built-in antenna and the ability to connect an external one.

Do not even look in the direction of 3g modems, I have not seen 3G modems with decent antennas in nature. Choose among 4G, I understand that you don’t have 4G there, but it can work with 3G, but almost any 4G modem has a smarter antenna than even the coolest 3G. And at the expense of the remote antenna, there is one chipper that must be taken into account. Often, when an external antenna is connected, the internal one does not turn off, as a result, you immediately have 2 antennas and the signal quality from this, if it increases, is not much.
Conclusion, find the best 4G modem in terms of reception quality and try to receive a signal without a remote antenna at all, and if you really need a remote one, then read how to unsolder the internal antenna.
