What free VM can be used on win7x64?

Given: laptop with licensed windows 7 x64 (home base).
Required: pick up a (preferably free) virtual machine on which you can deploy linux (32 or 64).

ps I used to have 7x32 and VirtualBox worked on it without problems, but now on 7x64 it goes into a blue screen with a reboot when trying to start Linux. Can anyone come across a similar problem, help with the recipe, plz. What will be the VM without a difference, but preferably free.

Deal with VirtualBox, and not look for another VM.

Check if hardware virtualization is enabled in bios

Deal with the cause of the blue screen. Or try an older or newer VirtualBox.
