What does the mode switching (inverter/UPS) do?

There is an inverter-UPS SNR-INV-1200-SK. It has toggle " UPS/INV ". What do these states mean?
The instructions say nothing about this.
It is planned to use this device as a UPS, but I would like to know what both modes mean in order to make an informed choice.

In UPS mode, it will charge and maintain the batteries in a charged state, in the event of an external power failure, it will switch to battery power - in principle, the standard scheme of a simple UPS.
In inverter mode, it will neither charge nor support batteries (the input, high-voltage part is completely inactive), this mode is convenient in the field - when there is no need for automation, but it is simply necessary to organize temporary power supply to the equipment.
Attention!
In inverter mode, it is not recommended to apply
220V to the input.
But it depends on how the mode switching is implemented. It's better not to risk it.

Well, purely logically, the UPS and Inverter mode.
In the case of this device in inverter mode, it converts 12v to 220v ... My opinion, but I can be wrong
Actually, this is written on page 3, paragraph 1 ...
