What does mean of distribution mean?

There is a function np.random.normal(), in which one of the parameters is loc
loc-mean of distribution, The loc parameter controls the mean of the function.
any number can be used as a parameter. loc=1,loc=2,loc=3.
But what changes from these parameters? Tell me please
