What does an Android developer lose when using not native Java, but C# Xamarin?

Actually a subject.
Is there a big difference in Android development? Do you mean the performance of the application, which is obtained at the output, is at least half of the capabilities of the native language involved, or is everything just as sad and crutch as with Delphi XE5?

Yes, he has nothing to lose. If you know C#, take xamarin and go. Moreover, Sharpists usually spit from Java. The performance is the same +-. Full platform support . You can compare about the language yourself, Android is still officially Java 6 (although craftsmen screw up fresher versions at their own peril and risk). If anything, there is not even a Switch for string literals.
Well, to the heap - the Xamarin development environment is much nicer than the free Eclipse.
And yes, I'm talking about industrial quality.
I myself mainly write on Xamarin for iOS, but the platform is excellent. I felt native sdk and can compare. Listening to high from those who have not seen her in the eyes is simply disgusting.

Money. Microsoft themselves said that xamarin is for people who have nowhere to shove their money ;)
