What do you think is the best way to connect ~200 analog subscribers to Asterisk?
If you use digitum cards with fxs, then there will not be enough pci slots.
There is an option with a bunch of VoIP gateways, but it doesn't look very good either.
I thought maybe there is a way to use the E1 stream, but I have no idea how.
Please tell me your decision.

Recommend Eltex TAU 72
Gateway
Best price / port ratio. Russian development, we have been supplying for more than two years, without any complaints.
You might want to look for something similar to High Density Rack Mount Voice Gateways dlink comes in up to 32 ports.
200 analog subscribers makes sense only if a large enterprise is telephonized, where telephone cables have already been laid to some old PBX, and there are difficulties to install ethernet.
Actually, this is a very unlikely situation, because ethernet is everywhere.
The most reliable solution would be to use IP phones.
Judging by the number of subscribers, the customer is not small. Think you can get away with it if longstream or grandstream die like flies? Please note that even if there are spare gateways, putting them into operation is not five minutes.
In short, as advised above, it is more correct to use IP phones.
If you already have a telephone exchange, then you can consider the option of integration.
If it doesn't work at all with IP phones, then I recommend taking a look at addpack, audiocodes, cisco.
buy IP phones, then your head will not hurt when expanding, especially large ones
I have one failed employer in the call-center'e very often there were analog old radio tubes connected via pstn -> ethernet boxes to an asterisk
I thought maybe there is a way to use the E1 stream
I have used these several times . Which code works without any complaints.
Can be found on 48 ports.
Regarding the last three comments: Communications
have already been laid at the enterprise and analog telephones have been purchased, the customer does not want to purchase IP telephones, that is, he wants to save money. We are considering all options. IP phones are not excluded. Let's leave the choice to the customer.
Parabel products . There is an experience of use. You can take it for a test.
You can use E1 + PBX to which analog phones are already connected.
But IMHO better quality gateways SPA8000 for example.
And everything needs to be tested, for example, the DVG-3032S worked fine in an unloaded office, but at the same time it died in a call center for 10 phones (this is true about 4 years ago it was now, maybe they finished the firmware).
