What do you need to know and be able to become an interface designer?

Good afternoon. Very much interested in the user interfaces of mobile applications. It would be interesting to read advice from knowledgeable people on where to start and what are the requirements for entering this position in IT?
Let's assume that I am a complete zero.

Judging by Windows 8, you are already head and shoulders above most of their designers.
In general, it is desirable to unlearn the designer. Interface design is not about putting buttons on molds.)
Read, for example, the book "User Interface Design. The Art of Washing an Elephant." You won’t become an interface designer, but at least you won’t be a complete zero.

Start with learning what is UX design (I mean research and planning). Afterwards you will better understand if you want to be a UX or UI designer. There is significant difference. UX plan interfaces based on research techniques, while UI designer actually "draws" it (usually in Sketch or Photoshop).

If we are talking purely about the mobile direction
1. You need to know the platforms, guidelines, devices.
2. Accordingly, each area has its own user habits and scenarios.
3. Designers have the same tools - Sketch, Axure, PS, Fw, who is into what, who is more comfortable, where what is accepted.
4. Read mobile digests on Habré to increase experience and broaden your horizons.
The designer is certainly not a designer, but often these roles are performed by the same person, so for greater attractiveness, learn to design.
