What do the labels on the pins mean? How are they decrypted?

Recently I started working with arduino and modules for it, and on each of the modules there are pins and their names, where can I find out their decoding? I tried to find it on the Internet, but as I understand it, there is no single standard, so the markings on each board are different. Explain plz.

You look for a datasheet aka a technical description of a particular module and read about the assignment of pins there.
The controller in arduino-like boards also has a datasheet with a description of the pins and their characteristics.
