What do DevOps need to know (for Node.js and PostgreSQL to work)?
This topic concerns Linux indirectly, but still. I'm tired of deploying and configuring VPS, and my knowledge is limited, for example, I don't know how to configure a mail server. You need to hire a person who is the only one who would have access to all servers, set them up, download code updates and manage the git repository (at least merging branches into master), was well versed in setting up nginx and Apache, knew how to set up DoS protection, at least setting up restrictions in nginx, apache, iptables. And, as far as I know, one of the direct responsibilities of DevOps is to know everything about scaling. Only now I don’t know if a separate administrator is needed, who is exclusively engaged in server support, or if these duties are within the scope of DevOps.
What does a person who applies for a DevOps job need to be able to do? If we are programming with PostgreSQL, Node.js and sometimes PHP
