In short, I found the answer myself.
For network monitoring,
Nagios
Ganglia
Cacti is used (builds graphs based on the collected information),
Zabbix
Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and a few more.
This software is just used in data centers and wherever you need to monitor a thread
