What development environment to choose for writing a "1C analogue" that has support for working with SQL servers?
Good day, comrades.
I am writing a thesis, I decided to roll out a kind of simpler analogue of 1C, which would be both cheaper and more focused on small offices. The fact is that for all four years of training, we were never given any suitable material, but were introduced only to Delphi, Assembler, and for a couple of months we wrote console applications in VS.
So, in fact, the question arose on what to create something like this?
All my work experience - Embarcadero RAD Studio - wrote a good term paper on it. Based on my work experience, I really liked the environment, but it is depressing that no one will need knowledge of the Delphi language after graduating from the university, so it's worth looking for something new and taking on new heights. Their C++ builder is terrible, no matter how much they fought - it didn’t even work out to transfer a piece of kursak correctly.
I read about WinAPI, I realized that this is, in fact, a kind of high-level assembler, so it doesn’t fit (it’s a long time to write, no?). I look towards Qt, but I can not understand its interaction with the database. In general, I ask for wise advice. Where to watch, what to study, what to read?

Well, if only for protection, then go to torry.net and download any script component. And go. Or you can spend money on a FastReport script - the analogy will be even smarter. After all, you can't do without a print generator.
Although if you would like to do something with "benefit for the future" and if you have time for more than a year, then it's better to start by learning java or c#.
In my opinion, now is not the right time for you to start learning a new language and development environment. I suggest writing the thesis on what you already know and focusing more on the project itself. Enough work for you. Think carefully about the wording of the topic and the tasks to be solved (their volume).
Java or C#. For java I use the NetBeans framework and for C# I use SharpDeveloper. C++ Builder by the way is a very good thing in vain you are so.
It seems to me that if you write under Windu, then God himself ordered c # + visual studio. Although it all depends on your background. What about protection in the spring? Choose what is familiar so as not to waste time.
It may sound crazy, but you can write a real system on Oracle, both back-end and front-end.
Download free of charge from the Microsoft website VS, SQL Express
and go :)
choose the language yourself C# or VB
when choosing a language, I recommend focusing on the labor market - C# is required more often :)
