What database administration software do you use?
Let me explain the main question from the title: you are interested in desktop applications for working with PostgreSQL and / or MySQL DBMS, preferably cross-platform or under Linux.
Perhaps someone is familiar with such programs as Aqua Data Studio, Navicat Premium or DbVisualizer? What can you say about them?
Thank you!

mysql workbench. Cross-platform, free, a lot of tasty, naturally only under MySql.
I mainly use Navicat for MySQL, but only under Windows. All that is required of it the program performs.
I only need to make dumps and download them when transferring from local to server.
I use www.webyog.com/en/index.php SQLYog, though it's under Windows and paid, but IMHO it's worth it :)
At our last job, we sort of ran it under ubuntu using wine by the way
MM, maybe I have my own specifics - many clients with their own sites, but I prefer phpmyadmin either locally or on sites ...
Under Win, an excellent program is HeidiSQL , under Mac it is somewhat less functional, but pleasant to use Sequel Pro .
HeidiSQL +1 (liked it too)
haven't updated sqldbx for a long time - it turns out MySQL 5.x is already supported
Among cross-platform (but not in Java), the choice is especially small.
First of all, we can recommend Navicat products .
1) Loading / unloading dumps - console
2) Editing the schema / debugging queries - MySQL Workbench
3) phpMyAdmin - I hate it)
MySQL Workbench is a different story. Under Linux, for some reason, it is very buggy for me. Therefore, after moving to Ubuntu, more and more often I edit the database schema directly in Eclipse in .sql files by hand (ALTER TABLE .....) - it turns out even faster and more convenient than clicking on the windows with the mouse. Yes, and better, I hope)
for MySQL I use EMS SQL Manager for MySQL. lite version of emnip, free. starts (started) under Vine normally. I use their products because of a long-standing habit, although I have been trying to find worthy alternatives for more than a year, so far I have not been able to switch to anything else. True, for the last five years I have had minimal contact with MySQL, I mainly use MS SQL Server, maybe that’s why I haven’t switched from the EMS line to something else, there will be fewer alternatives for MS than under the muscle.
there are also funny DevArt tools for MySQL, but I don’t know how they run under nix. most likely not so hot, although you can try to run them under mono, it is possible that it will work out
dbForge Studio MySQL is a great program. I use it myself and recommend it to everyone.
I tried everything: Aqua Data Studio, Navicat Premium, DbVisualizer, though under the Mac. At first I used Aqua DS, but after the appearance of Navikat, I switched to it. Akvu yuzat only for MS SQL Server'a. But with the advent of Navicat Premium with MS support, he demolished the aqua nafig.
The only thing Navikat lacks, of course, is the Data Modeler... Otherwise, it's simple and convenient.
