What communication interface is used in the phillips m1027a eeg module?

I am evaluating the possibility of using a medical eeg monitor for diy projects. The phillips m1027a has a multi-pin connector on the front panel for electrodes on the head, and on the back panel (it seems) a two-pin connector for connecting it, along with monitors of other body functions, into some sort of rail to which the display and / or PC is already connected. Share your thoughts on how to get information from this module? Are there standard protocols and interfaces for medical devices?
