Unexpectedly (this has never happened before), when trying to make a commit, an error occurs:

Error: Git returned with status 128: fatal: .git/index: index file open failed: This is not a directory

After a power outage during synchronization, error 128.
Delete the index file in the local folder of the repository: .git\index
Update the repository
