What can Wordpress optimization result in?

We are going to do with chords + video for a cool music school. There will be about 5-10 thousand posts,
I thought about doing it on WordPress, but now I doubt it, because already this year we are focusing on 3-5 thousand visits per day, and in the future 10k+.
I have a site on the VP under nginx, with a similar attendance of 3000/day, but there are about 500 publications, that is, 10 times less. I suspect that this is a heavy load on the sql-base.
Will it hold up? I understand that it depends on optimization, plugins used and hosting.
I also know that there are large sites on WordPress, the same Techcrunch, but again they have VIP service.
How much will you have to invest if you need to optimize for such a large number of people?
I would like to know the opinion of experts.

If the site is not made by a monkey or a pioneer, then 50k uniques a day keeps free on a not very expensive VPS for 12k a year.
The main thing is the direct hands of the one who will do this.
