What can go wrong with androidx.lifecycle.Lifecycle?
If I understand correctly, Lifecycle in API 23 and below reports the ON_STOP event from the onSaveInstanceState() method instead of onStop().
Can you give an example of a case where ignorance of this nuance can lead to problems?
