Somewhere else there was an Erlang messanger with a GUI, but I forgot about it over the years.

As much as you want. The language was originally developed by Ericsson for use in its telecommunications equipment. Therefore, it does not have graphic libraries and a user interface, and the computational part is rather weak. And for servers, it is quite suitable.
