The bottleneck is a low entry threshold. So all of it must be rewritten in C, assembler or brinefak so that only a ninja could understand it.
Because a bunch of coders start creating plugins, writing themes and... sharing them, distributing them to the masses. And then hackers break them and off we go...

Maybe I don't understand something, but how can I rewrite parts of the VP, which is written in PHP, into a low-level language? How will features, themes and plugins work? How is this going to get married?
