Hello!
I'm going to give my mom an eink e-book reader. The main focus is the simplicity and clarity of the interface. On the reader, she will use only 4 functions that should be easily and naturally given to a woman who is completely far from glands:
- scroll through the list of books
- open a book
- flip through its pages while reading
- close the book
That's it! It will not use any synchronization, no internet, widgets, apps, RSS, and their presence where it is not needed is undesirable.
Several thousand books will be loaded onto the flash drive, and in the next few years the only synchronization that will be performed is the synchronization of the battery with the mains.
Another small wish - not too small a screen (for example, Nuk has it too small).

Nuka has a standard 6 inch screen, like on most readers.

Budget? Do you need fb2?
If there is a budget and you need fb2, I would choose pocketbook basic 611.
Super simple, there is a Wi-Fi that is invisible, large built-in memory, an excellent screen, holds a charge well, knows its own fonts and is very fast.

It is the PockeBook 611 that has already been advised above. My mom is happy with it. The overpayment compared to the Kindle is not so huge. The only thing is that they are still sawing the firmware, so sometimes you will update. Although now everything is not so sad there as it was right after the release :)

Advantages:
1) Adequate, convenient interface. In the new firmware, everything is on one screen, everything is visible and almost everything is quite convenient.
2) The price is 5000 rubles: a book and a case are included (that is, everything you need)
3) The screen resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels, which is more than on the same Kindle. And it's really noticeable to the eye: the picture quality is higher
4) It's convenient to hold, it's convenient to switch with one hand
Disadvantages:
1) There is a bug with the transition to the next page. Sometimes, not very often, instead of going to the page forward, he scrolls back. This bug goes from firmware to firmware and, in theory, it should be overcome. The father says that he is not particularly annoyed.

I'm thinking about buying an e-book. I chose between Kindle keyboard 3G and Sony PRS-T1. If you order from America, the cost will be about 5000 rubles.

I have an Onyx Hamlet - it reads all popular formats, holds a month, a Pearl screen, can play music and translate words. There is no Internet, but the rest suits me quite well. Now it costs about 6k.
