I understand that the question is asked several times a day probably. Once I worked as a programmer, I tried laravel, vue, node, express, workflow(gulp, git, webpack, less), html, css. But I just watched out of curiosity. I didn't work for a long time, now I want to return. Programming is not the meaning of my life and I don’t want to comprehend all corners of this area, nevertheless, there is a tendency to look at something, to figure it out, but without clear goals, which brings the benefits of efforts closer to zero.
Since I want to return as soon as possible, I’ll probably start somewhere as a layout designer, and then I’ll learn more and become a programmer. Tell me, if you go for front-end development, then what to focus on. That is, I wrote tests on laravel, on the frontend I tried a little with the libraries three.js, d3 and others. I bought a virtual machine and set up a server. But all for informational purposes, I don’t have any experience in serious projects, all that was simple shops, business cards, and then, I didn’t work for a long time, and it was on yii2.
I want to put myself some kind of framework, so as not to rush into everything. Workflow tools, I will repeat the layout quickly, so in a week I will go look for a job. But at the same time I want to learn front-end frameworks, not the documentation itself, but to do some projects, because if I know vue, then there is already an understanding.
There is a blurry impression of the vacancies, somewhere they write an in-depth knowledge of the three, pixi, d3 graphic libraries, somewhere it looks like a vacancy for a layout designer with scripting skills, and somewhere there is a feeling that they want a full-stack programmer. If you go along the frontend, then stop only at studying popular frameworks and layout, and you can basically not study the server, api, database, given that there are general skills. If you wish, write a short plan of what you need and what you can not waste time on until there is a necessary need at work, for example.
PS I'm asking because I haven't worked in more or less large companies and I have a vague idea of ​​how it actually happens.
