What are the pros and cons of OpenShift?
Do I understand correctly that:
Pros of Openshift:
built-in CI / CD
Open vSwitch
SSO, integration with LDAP and other convenient work with RBAC
Cons of Openshift: time-
consuming debugging of Open vSwitch Open vSwitch
rules disappear
a large number of IPtables rules (Open vSwitch + Kubernetes itself)
restart of all containers on one node
one node can take on a large number of containers
service mesh does not see the logging/monitoring system
RBAC does not work well with authentication. Those. the user logs in, the group is mapped, but the role is not assigned to the user (the jamb of the cuber, it comes from there)
Some of the commands look hardcoded into the docker socket, other runtimes go through the forest (oc cluster status for example)
Monitoring does not know how out of the box to external systems, only to make storage for itself
. Logging out of the box is broken. Tries to start under twice
Documentation is late and sometimes
inconsistent Need to look aside kuber docks
API description poorly documented. Not a single example for a YAML file, only JSON and only the hands
of Minishift out of the box can do nothing except the base, so that something was included in the experimental mode
Double monitoring. Already have Grafana+prometheus, at the same time the old heapster stack+hawcooler lives
