What are the practices for team learning, improving skills, learning new technologies?

I work with a group of 12 web developers on several large and medium projects, with an established and possibly outdated technology stack. There is a desire to improve qualifications, skills, study new technologies. I want to involve colleagues in this process in order to make the process more efficient and interesting, and the subject of study suitable for solving our common problems. Please share your experience or methods of how to study something together, combining it with the main activity

Workshops. Make a rule: every Fri at 16:00, a presentation on some topic begins. For example: why public variables are (usually) the source of big problems.
