What are the main differences between virtualization technology and cloud computing technologies?
Good day, experts. Actually the question is, what is the difference between virtualization and cloud computing.
In my understanding, virtualization is an integral part, a technology used in the clouds.
Why can't we just turn to the provider for the allocation of resources (based on virtualization) and do what we want (as in the old fashioned way), but turn to cloud computing? What is the essence of the "service" of the clouds?
And one more thing, suppose there is a data center where virtualization is used. According to legislative acts, we understand all this as an IS or AS (automated system) and, accordingly, information protection laws should be imposed on it. And what about clouds? Likewise?

The cloud is based on virtualization, yes. But the cloud itself is a whole complex of technical, software, and organizational measures. Allowing you to flexibly manage the infrastructure, allocate capacity to customers, limit these capacities, provide automatic or automated scaling of these limits, ensure the reliability and uninterrupted services.
in fact, we just turn to virtualization, nothing more
if we consider simple things like digital ocean
