What are the Jabber servers?

Which jabber server to choose?
The selection criteria are as follows:
— open source;
— "liveness" of the project;
- ease of processing with a file (if suddenly someone really tried to add functions, apply them in a non-standard environment).

Thanks for the project links. Many thanks for the experience of installation and use.

I recommend Ejabberd , a very fault-tolerant Erlang language. Seems to be easy to add.
I do not recommend OpenFire , it is written in Java, each client needs about 1 megabyte of RAM.

Everyone loves Ejabberd very much.
I personally set myself Prosody. It is easier to set up and clearer than ejabberd.
I will not say whether it is better or worse, because I use it only for myself.

Openfire - put in the office, fasten AD, SIP, fully integrate into the office. (enterprise)
Ejabberd - it seems to be an xmpp server, and after a week of coding it is already a server for a shooter over the network. (hacker)

Settled on openfire. Allowed to cluster the system without unnecessary problems and transparently display the database on a separate server. Of course, this could also be done on ejabberd, but it turned out to be much more difficult and longer.
