What are the current game development standards? What do you need to know? What are the technology stacks?

Good day to all.
I'm currently doing enterprise development in Java. Everything seems to be cool, the tasks are interesting, often difficult, every day you learn a lot of new information and gain experience, but there is no feeling of crazy drive from this, it’s cool that you are doing cool things, but there is no feeling that they are of any value.
Recently I read an article about a programmer who worked at Ubisoft, told how he was there, how he developed AAA class games. The article went on to describe how he dropped out to develop indie games with a small team.
I have been interested in this topic for a long time, when I was a student I often tried to write small games, then my imagination played to its fullest, probably because I lost all my childhood in them and had a certain user experience :)
I would like to know the current standards in this area. Perhaps someone works in it and can give valuable advice, what do I need to study in order to get into this area at all?
P.S. The option is not suitable for me - to come up with my own game and write it, because there is no free finance on which my family could live without a salary :)

HAHAHAHAHA. Eee... that is, meow! That's something, but there is usually no daily crazy drive and a constant sense of value in game development, especially if you work for offices like Ubisoft. Well, okay, okay, sometimes it happens, besides, if you compare it with an enterprise ...
What an average employer of a domestic game dev needs can be estimated for example here (it is contraindicated to read the rest of the forum, terrible degenerative brain damage can happen). As you can see, the most fashionable word this season is Unity. You can try to fit in with Java as well - for example, Skyforge from mail.ru was written / written on it. But, as you understand, from an enterprise to mail.ru it is somehow from the fire to the frying pan.

1. The programming language and engine that games are written in the company where you get a job as a game developer.
2. A general idea of the game loop and methods for optimizing performance in various situations.
In general, that's all.
(There are also animators, 3D modelers, game interface designers, etc. - but these are already resource workers.)

Good day. I recommend you Unity3d as an engine. General architecture of UniRx (reactive extension). Fashionable and standard.
