What are the causes of data loss in sqlite on android?

There have been several cases where the user simply loses all application data. There are very few such situations, but all of them (there were 10/50,000 pieces, no more) happened after the update. At the same time, there were no database manipulations in the updates, mainly: adding languages, sorting lists, animation, etc.
I can't figure out what could be the reason for this.
Perhaps someone faced this or a similar problem. Describe the causes and / or methods for their solution.

Issue: The user clicked the "clear data" button in the app's settings
Solution: Check for data and download it (how to download depends on how you provide the data)
