What are free or cheap utilities (up to 10 dollars) for backing up MySQL databases to a local computer?
I don’t see any particular difficulty in writing, but I don’t like bicycles, and a few hours can be more usefully spent.

Since the question does not say why it does not suit you, then start with the regular mysqldump
