What are alternatives to MindFusion components for embedding interactive flowcharts in desktop C# applications?
I want to write a desktop program in C # (WinForms is desirable, but in principle WPF is also possible), part of which will be an interactive flowchart editor (directed graphs from blocks with inputs and outputs). So far, the only adequate (at least judging by the description and pictures) solution that I managed to google is MindFusion.Diagramming for WinForms(below picture). Do not take it as an advertisement for this library - just the opposite, I want to find more modest alternatives, otherwise this one in the minimum version wants $ 600, which is somehow fat for my case (hobby, personal use, free projects, perhaps sometime in the future partial commercialization may be...). It is highly desirable that the license allows use in open source projects published under some free license (MIT, Apache, BSD, GPL, etc.) (but not necessarily - I would also compare commercial alternatives, even not too cheap, in any if you want to choose from more than one option, the more primitive ones (with simpler graphics, less choice of chart types, etc.) will also do).

The best option is to write your own library that is maximally optimized for the task.
At one time, I implemented a terribly productive library for similar purposes, inspired by this article.
