What and how to use Terminal in Intellij Idea?

How and why do I need a terminal in intellij idea and how to set it up because I can't type in it?
Where to use tools like : serialver or a flag like : -d
If it's in WIndows how can I fix it?

the terminal is needed in order not to switch to a separate application, if needed.
about "I can not print": most likely some kind of screw problems, on nixes the terminal will enter itself almost perfectly (there are small jambs, but far from fatal).
