Was there always a version choice in the Windows installer?
I downloaded an iso image of Windows 10 Home Single Language from the Microsoft website.
I downloaded it a long time ago, using a special program . It opens the browser in itself and allows you to select any release of Windows and then copy the link to it and download it through the browser. I always download version 1803 because later versions don't work as well on my laptop.
This one was on my laptop from the factory and the oem key works for it.
But when I reinstalled windows before, I did not notice the menu with the choice of the version of Windows and always chose the same 10 for one language.
But this time I saw that there are also versions with the letter N and even a pro version.
Questions:
1 A very long time ago I still downloaded Windows from a torrent and there was the same menu with a choice, so I thought that it was only in hacked versions of Windows. Or is there?
2 What happens if I install for example the pro version? And I have an oem key for home 1 language, will the key fit or not?
3 Why doesn't Microsoft open this site with ISO images to everyone and does it work only through this program?

1. The concept of "cracked version" is wrong. That's right - unlicensed. Tk usually these images (torrent and microsoft) do not differ, except for the possibility of having installed updates from the carapace, there is no framework, drivers and something else at will. Just for convenience, the distribution kit is repacked with all editions, so as not to carry around a bunch of flash drives with different installers, because in fact the versions differ only in unlocked functions for Pro and higher.
2. It will work, but you will have to use the activator. Your OEM key will not fit there.
3. Only Microsoft itself knows this. There is no logical sense in these actions

1. There are also original official images on the torrents. Now, basically, all images come with an editor's choice, because. it is more convenient and practical in terms of distribution of images and editions. The original OEM image for one language can still be easily found on the same torrents.
2. The key will not work. "Pro" is a completely different edition from another branch, roughly speaking.
3. Because Microsoft earns, as it were, by selling software, why does it need to easily distribute images of its system right and left, which today are very easy to activate and become full-fledged systems without restrictions.
