VPN on a router and a device on the local network at the same time. How will it work?
I am just starting to study the topic of VPN, so please do not joke if the question seems trivial.
Imagine the situation: all traffic on the home network is sent through the VPN, and the creation of tunnels occurs at the router level. I have a phone, when I am at home, it is connected to the local network and all traffic goes through the VPN.
To use VPN outside the local network, that is, through the mobile Internet from the operator or some public Wi-Fi, I turn on the VPN connection directly on the phone.
Question: What happens if I connect to my home network (where a VPN tunnel has already been created at the router level) with the VPN connection enabled on my phone? Inside one VPN, the phone will try to create a subnet, will they connect to the same server? Or will everything work? I plan to buy a router with VPN support like TP-LINK TL-R600VPN, to which I will connect my WiFi router, rent a VPS and install OpenVPN there. Thank you.
