VirtualBox: began shamelessly slowing down guest OSes (any program eats 100% cpu)?
It was: the virtualbox worked fine on the laptop for almost a year, and the guest OS did not lag at all (I ran 2-3 virtual machines simultaneously with chrome, etc.).
It has become: now any program on any guest (new or old, win xp or ubuntu) eats the entire CPU by 100%.
Comp: laptop with win 8, i7, 8gb, 1tb.
guest OS: win xp, ubuntu 14 (all default settings, dynamic disk, 1 core, 1+ GB of memory).
Recent changes on the laptop: installed genymotion. Around this time, the problem arose.
Also, the power management circuit itself began to switch from balanced to high.
I reset the bios (virtualization is enabled), reset the power settings, enabled 4 cores in msconfig.
Google tends to problems with the power supply or battery.

You may have disabled Intel Virtualization purely by accident . The probability is small, but check for everyone.
Oracle doesn't usually update VirtualBox often. The latest versions came out very often ... And, yes, the performance has decreased in them.
